Like the aims and practice of physical Yoga the vibrations of the human voice used therapeutically are a form of sound Yoga which energize and purify us at each level -physical, mental and spiritual. Such voicework leads to the retuning of our complete nature like a musical instrument, bringing us into harmony and feeling totally ourselves.

Using our natural voice complemented by simple movements similar to Chi Kung and Tai Chi, natural sounds such as laughter are ritualized for emotional cleansing, the energizing power of sacred sounds in the form of mantras, chants and overtones are explored, energy blockages are released and the chakra centres and organs of the body are stimulated through toning, the nervous system is brought into balance through combining voice and tuning forks and deep peace is induced leading to wholeness.

Participants are not asked to produce vocal sound on their own. No previous experience is necessary. The quality of the voice is not the issue, only the deep intent behind it. The movements are simple and natural and are similar to those done in Tai Chi and Chi Kung. To complement the active side there are short periods of meditation where you can observe the healing effects of the sound/movement work on body, mind and spirit.

The following are many of the activities offered in the workshops:

Natural sound rituals for the purpose of emotional release and purification of the psyche. Therapeutic sound mantras combining particular consonants and vowels for different aspects of the body/mind/spirit.

Toning the chakras and the use of therapeutic touch for general healing.
Healing sounds for energy balancing and specific areas of the body.
Proper use of the breath (diaphragmatic breathing) for the creation of maximum vocal sound and deep relaxation.
Discovery and development of one's own fundamental note for toning and chanting.
Healing chants from the sacred traditions of India, Islam and Christianity.
Rhythmic chants of the North American Indians and other New Age chants in combination with movement.
Therapeutic chants channeled from the ancient civilisation of Atlantis.
Techniques for producing overtones for centering and mental clarity.
Collective vocal improvisation for complete freedom of expression.
Formation of group geometrical patterns for the purpose of directing therapeutic sounds.
Sympathetic vibration partnership exercises to develop a sense of oneness and unity.
Sonic attunement of the body through the use of tuning forks.
