AN EXPERIMENTAL SPIRITUALITY GROUP
HAWKWOOD COLLEGE, STROUD
The purpose of this group is to find pathways into our spirituality
as we discover who we are and why we are here.
We explore such topics as:
1. Surrendering to our true Self
2. Finding the observer in ourselves
3. Seeing through illusion
4. Overcoming negative emotions
5. Staying in the present moment.
6. Ways of coming to stillness
7. What is the meaning of love
8. How do we view deatrh
9.The role of the ego
10. What is true happiness
11.Discriminating between the useful and useless in our selves
12. What is the nature of our soul
There are readings from spiritual teachers which reflect the topic
of the evening.
During the course of our meetings we have periods of meditation, do
simple chanting and toning from different traditions and listen to
pieces of music chosen by the members. These non-verbal activities
open up the mind to the ideas expressed.
If you are searching to find your true Self and have not chosen a
particular pathway to do this, the Experimental Spirituality Group
could be a good beginning in your quest. The group meets once a month
at one of the members' homes in the Stroud/Gloucester area. The next
two meetings will be on Tuesday, November 22nd at 7pm and Tuesday,
December 13th at 7pm.
